Even on a rainy day, there’s just nothing like the beauty of a 911 turbo. This 997 Turbo cabriolet came to us in need of a nice sound upgrade and speed detection device protection.
We start with our system foundation of a Kenwood double din Excelon radio with wireless Apple Carplay and new touch screen to replace OEM PCM. The next step is to take this foundation and give us clean power with a JL Audio VXi amplifier powering a new set of 8″ Blam mid range woofers and 4″ Focal Expert series kevlar component speakers. The last piece is a custom enclosure built in the driver’s side rear seat housing the JL Audio 10″ TW1 subwoofer powered by the XD300/1 amplifier. We then installed the Digital media adjustment allowing for on the fly tune changes, allowing us to quickly change between preset tunes for optimum sound.
The last and final piece is the Escort MaxCI radar and laser protection system. We install 5 laser shifters with 2 radar antennas for front and rear radar and laser protection from speed detection devices. We integrated the controller into the ashtray and installed the display neatly above the rearview mirror.
Special thanks to Butler Tire for introducing us to one of their unique builds featuring HRE wheels and Fi Exhaust System. Now this car is complete!
